To all young Jazz Musicians & interested parties

The South Jazz Club inc. in conjunction with the Walkerville RSL is planning to start a Junior Jazz Gig venue. 
The aim is to establish a regular venue for young Musicians to play.

• The first event is planned for late 2015 / early 2016 with regular Gigs following
• Age group  – Under 25
• Venue  – Walkerville RSL Hall
• Venue availability  – Sundays (excluding the last Sunday in each month)
• Time  – 12:00 to 5:00 pm
• Music Style  – Jazz (your chosen style)
• Band sizes  – Trios to Quintets
• No. of Band per event  – 5 or 6
• Entry Fees  – Minimum to cover costs so young audiences can afford to attend

Whilst the Southern Jazz Club promotes Traditional & Mainstream Jazz is not a mandatory style. We do however ask & encourage musicians to include Traditional & Mainstream Jazz music in their future repertoire & that it will be played in the appropriate style.
In this endeavour the SCJ will provide & pay for suitably qualified Musicians to Tutor in these styles.

The ultimate goal is that this will lead to the formation of a “Junior Jazz Club” with regular blows & with Junior Musicians being involved in the running of this Club.
